May 24, 2022 was a day that changed Texas forever, and it was the same day that The Ecumenical Center had volunteers on the ground in Uvalde, ready to help. The Center’s counselors and peer support specialists provided a ministry of presence while families gathered to receive news of their loved ones. The next day, specially trained licensed professional staff were actively serving students, school personnel and the community with counseling and support services.

The Center is now leading the Uvalde Together Resiliency Center (UTRC) in collaboration with the District Attorney, County Judge and Mayor of Uvalde, along with Texas Department of Health and Human Services and several other agencies. There, they offer no-cost, long-term support services, including:
- Counseling services
- Legal services
- Consulate services
- Transportation services
- Assistance with insurance claims
- Trauma-informed crisis support
- Financial assistance
The Ecumenical Center’s commitment to being a healing presence in communities all over Texas inspires us, and we’re privileged to serve in their marketing needs. In response to this tragedy, we designed and created street banners, yard signs, postcards and a webpage for the UTRC.
The UTRC will be actively involved in the recovery of students, teachers and the community for at least the next five years. The Center’s pledge is to continue to serve the families who have lost so much for as long as they need help and support. We commend their incredible response and stand with them, and hope you will, too.
