Since 1918, Porter Loring Mortuaries has been providing San Antonio with funeral services, and has grown to become one of the city’s most recognizable names. Throughout those 100 years, their name has become synonymous with caring, professionalism, and dedication.
This reputation has followed them throughout their hundred-year history. “I had the honor of meeting Porter Loring when we first pitched the account in 1999. He was such a wonderful man. So kind and caring,” comments Mary Aaron, senior art director on the Porter Loring account. “It’s no wonder the business has lasted so long. They’ve always been so humble.”
Mary, Kim Gresham (account supervisor and President/Owner of AMG), and Dirk Ronk (associate creative director), have been working to create a comprehensive strategy for the 100th anniversary celebration, crafting a new logo, developing TV spots, and even the company’s first fiesta medal. Dave Solce, social media manager, has also been hard at work combing through Porter Loring’s archives to find pieces of memorabilia from throughout the company’s century-long history. He’ll be using what he finds in a social media campaign – #PLM100Memories. Porter Loring will be posting photos, letters, and other mementos throughout the year to honor the four generations of family who have served San Antonio.
The celebration will culminate in a private party on May 11, the actual anniversary of the day the first Porter Loring location opened its doors 100 years ago.
We at AMG know how important longevity is to an organization. With almost half a century of service to San Antonio and the surrounding area, we can only imagine what it must be like to celebrate 100 years providing a much-needed service to our community. Congrats to Porter Loring Mortuaries, and here’s to 100 more years in business, and four more generations of service.
