Porter Loring Mortuaries

Helen Loring Dear, President of Porter Loring Mortuaries and a fourth-generation owner of the family business, has been inducted as an official member into the San Antonio Business Journal Leadership Trust, an exclusive network of executives and business leaders in the greater San Antonio area. Her family has made caring for families with respect and sympathy their tradition since 1918. Porter Loring is also an honoree in the San Antonio Business Journal’s first Family-Owned Business Awards for overall excellence. Congratulations, Helen!

Alamo Colleges District

The Aspen Prize, America’s signature recognition of high achievement and performance excellence among community colleges, has announced Palo Alto College as a “Rising Star” award winner for 2019. This honor distinguishes Palo Alto College as one of the best community colleges in the nation in terms of student success. Northwest Vista College was named in the Top 10 for the Aspen Prize and St. Philip’s College and San Antonio College were in the top 150. Nearly 1,000 two-year colleges nationwide apply for these prizes. Our congratulations to all their dedicated faculty and staff!

We also want to recognize the Alamo Colleges District for receiving two gold Paragon Awards and one silver at the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations Conference. These awards honor outstanding achievement in design and communication at two-year community colleges, drawing nearly 2,000 entries. We were proud to contribute by developing the radio campaign that took gold in the Best Radio Ad-Series Category. Our congratulations also go to Palo Alto College for taking two gold Paragon Awards and a bronze as an individual community college.

Our congratulations go to Cavender Toyota for once again receiving Toyota’s most coveted and prestigious honor, the President’s Cabinet Award, for achieving high-volume sales and exceptional customer satisfaction performance. Only 12 Toyota dealerships out of 1,300 are honored with this award. Cavender Toyota was the only dealership in 5 states to receive the award.

In typical Cavender fashion, they are also the No. 1 dealer in South Texas for sales of every make of vehicle and No. 1 in the nation for sales of certified and pre-owned vehicles. The San Antonio Business Journal recently featured Cavender in their Family-Owned Business Awards for overall excellence, innovation, and ethics.

Pizza Patrón, owned by our San Antonio client Wingstop, has opened a new location at 3031 W. Woodlawn Ave. This pizza chain with a Latin twist is quickly nearing 100 locations as it explores new markets. Both these brands have seen explosive growth in the last decade and the future looks just as promising. We are excited to continue working with Wingstop and congratulate their other brand, Pizza Patrón, on their recent expansion.
